Go Big on Deficit Reduction

Maya MacGuineas and the Committee for a Reponsible Federal Budget have been calling for the Super Committee to surpass its mandate and "Go Big" to find several times the $1.5 trillion in savings it had been charged with.

In The New York Times, Thomas Friedman applauded this effort and urged President Obama to put the country on a “sustainable economic recovery path” by following the recommendations of the Simpson-Bowles deficit reduction commission.
